Been Bad Bad Bad

Thursday
So I did my double class on Thursday and I seriously worked my butt off in both of them, first was combat and guess what I fell again, it was a comedy fall as well one of they stumbles where you land right on your bum, seriously Im like the body combat equivelant to the class clown! Pump I upped my weights again as I didnt feel I was pushing myself hard enough so for the squats and back track I lifted 10kls in total, Ill be up for the next Rocky Movie before you know it!

Friday
Second day on week three after a busy day I managed to get out for my run, it was either make dinner or go for a run, oh how times have changed as the run won and I decided that a takeaway would be phoned instead. Found the second 3 minutes tough again but I did it and each week Im doing it I surprise myself as I struggled with even running a minute. Takeaway was a chinese which I halved with hubby and I really enjoyed it this week was yummy yummy.

Saturday
Rest day no exercise except of the hand to mouth variety, I stuck to vodka and slimline tonic all night, no cocktails and I only had around 7 or 8 drinks, we did eat food but I treated this like my Saturday night takeaway and opted for fish and chips which was yummy and well worth it. Was home by 11.30pm though as hubby was a little worse for wear and managed to avoid takeaway shops and was a really good girl and made us toast with melted cheese and tea, only to discover I had forgot to toast the bread so it was melted cheese on bread, I wasnt even that drunk!!!!

Sunday
Well we went out for lunch and I stuck to a baked potato then when I got home I got out there and completed week three and it wasnt so bad, once again dreading week 4 though running for 5 minutes oh my who would have thought. Not really had the munchies today but have had about half a bag of liquorice allsorts so not too good!

Think Im going to have to change training days as hubby is going back to footie and needs to train either a Monday or a Thursday both my gym nights grrrr so Im thinking of doing a double class on a Tuesday running on a Saturday, Monday and Wednesday and then another double gym class on a Thursday, not sure yet but think thats what Im going to have to do.

Tips for the day
1. Dont pretend to be sober only for the toast and cheese to let you down
2. Dont have multibags of sweets in the house, you will just eat them and feel guilty as hell
3. Try not to take two left feel to the gym as one right and one left tends to work better!

No missing classes this week I need to keep losing and I have been so bad all weekend i dont expect a loss so a stay the same would be acceptable.

Drum Roll Please.....

Well hello out there, hope you havent missed me too much?! Well here is a run down on the last few days, Im such a rubbish blogger and I promise Ill try to get on here more often:)

Saturday
Well Saturday is a rest day so I went and met some lovely girls for lunch and treated myself to a lovely steak pie with mash and vegetables and scoffed the lot was sooo yummy. BUT Saturday night I also had 1/2 fish supper one glass of fizzy juice and a roll with my chips. I also had a cream egg! So naughty and felt awful to be honest with you, and I didnt finish the fish as it was so boney so there was a lesson to me! Went to bed on a total low as I had done the dreaded thing and weighed myself that morning and weighed in at 9stone 3/4llb so was quite delighted, why did I have to be a pig hmph!

Sunday
Well I got myself up and got out for a run, this was my last in week 2 and it was great felt quite exhilerated, really like running in the morning more than evening but its not always possible. Im into eating porridge now and its taken me a week and Im really used to it now as I hated it before, just shows you, you CAN convince yourself you like something eventually ;)Ruined my morning right enough first by weighing again, oh when oh when will I learn and yip you guessed it back to 9stone 4 1/2 llb and just knew it was down to being a pig on Saturday. Sunday ended with a dinner of toast and spaghetti with a vow to having a better week!

Monday
Felt crap when I woke up, AF on her way and Im just feeling lethargic and snappy not a good combination at all, cancelled my double class of Attack and Combat, my first fail really in 4 weeks felt so guilty but Ill make up for it this week as I have bought the new Davina DVD. Been eating really well and managed to sort that out so didnt feel too guilty we are all allowed a slip up!

Tuesday
Today is officially my rest day so didnt feel too bad about it still feel bloated though and really hate this time of the month as Im just a miserable cow to be about! Still eating well though, weigh day tomorrow though!

Wednesday
Weigh in this morning, cant believe it after the weekend I have had I weighed in at 9 stone 3llb, was well chuffed with that, so lost 1 1/2llb from last week. Went for a run tonight and entered into week three of the programme, so running for 90 seconds walking for 90 seconds then running for 3 minutes then walking three minutes, first half wasnt so bad but the last three minutes were a killer, my right calf gets right sore and I struggled for the last minute especially, but I done it, I cant believe it to be honest as I struggled to do one minute of running two weeks ago so definately an improvement. Got a double class at the gym tomorrow combat and pump, but tonight Im treating myself to a packet of maltesers yummy! Well a girl got to have a bit of chocolate especially at this time of month!

Tips for today
1. If your going to treat yourself make sure its something worth it, like a double vodka not boney fish thats liable to kill you!
2. Dont feel guilty if you slip up just get right back to it and you may just surprise yourself!

Ill be back soon promise, but yip you guessed it another bender on Saturday, an all day shot god knows how Ill survive, oh well you got to take one for the team!

And Here's the science bit...............

Sorry I havent blogged all week been mad busy but here I am to fill you in.

Wednesday
Well Wednesday was my second week on C25K so off I went home from work for my run. Go thome got changed quickly then went to download the second week onto my ipod, here is where my problems began, first it told me it would take 2 hours, WTF, 2 hours, so I rebooted and tried again, even got my son to try but nope same thing, so in my angry state of mind and wanting to toss the computer out the window I grabbed R's ipod only to discover to battery in it, then I grabbed Mr Hs and thought right Ill time it, I knew I was to do 90 seconds running and 2 minutes walking so thought Id time it with songs, boy was this hard. 1 trying to find a song suitable, and 2 a song would finish and I was all over the place, my breathing was awful and I didnt know whether I was coming or going. It started snowing hard and Id forgot my gloves so hands were freezing for the first mile was not good, there was ice under the snow and I nearly went on my neck a couple of times, it was very trying but I did two miles and although it wasnt with the podcast I managed it.

Oh and today was weigh in day, wait for it dadadadada a whole 1/2 llb, not a lot I know but a loss is a loss and after having the night out on Saturday and eating out on Sunday I suppose its ok. Apparently your muscle retains fluid after working out and it takes your body around 4 weeks to adjust to exercise so as Im entering my 4th continous week Im hoping for a greater loss next week.....

Thursday
Double class tonight, body combat and body pump. Mr H was working late so I had to call on my mum for some babysitting duties. Class was ok but I was a bit stressed as I knew my youngest wouldnt go to bed and would still be up by the time I got in so wasnt as focused as I normally am, but I did it. Oh and a strange thing happened in pump, I heard and felt a loud pop in my tricep, weirdest feeling ever, the teacher thinks it was just the transition in moves that shocked the muscle, so at least I know there is a muscle hiding in there somewhere and it wasnt sore phew.

Friday
So today I had my second run of the week and I was more prepared, I have downloaded hte next 5 weeks podcasts as Im not getting caught out like that again. It was tough as I knew it would be and I only managed the 2 miles still in the allocated time, though I might have managed more with it having more running but nope so will just have to plod on, hoping with a fresh pair of legs on Sunday Ill find it easier.

Tips for the Day
1. Be more organised and then you wont be tempted to throw computers out the window
2. Wear gloves when road running in the snow or end up with red raw hands not a good look

Monday is here.....

Saturday was a great night with lots of booze and food, totally over indulged as per usual, made sure I had ate properly during the day as I have a tendency to not bother and then end up hugging the toilet shouting for Hughie at the end of the night, not a good look! There was lots of dancing so Im sure that also counts as exercise.....

Ending up buying a new dress which is not what I wanted to do as Im trying to save at the moment, but everything I tried on I just didnt like, really need to banish this tummy its making me miserable unless black leggins are involved. Mr H said I looked lovely and even told me the next day he could really see the definition in my calve muscles now, was really chuffed as its only been 4 weeks continous at classes and obviously only my first week running. I did start classes back in October but took some sort of sickness bug after I started so when I say I have been there for 4 weeks thats me starting back after a 6 week break with Christmas etc.

So Sunday came and I was up at 9am, I can never sleep long after a night on the razzle, so up I got and I didnt feel too bad at all. In laws turned up unexpected so we took them to lunch, another indulgance! Got home and then come tea time it looked nice out so on I popped the Reeboks, and my sons hoody as all mines were in the wash and I completed my first week on the C25K, found it just as tough as the one on Friday but so glad I made the effort, what I didnt realise and this is why I was finding the walking bit so long was I was walking 90 second and jogging 60 second, this week that changes and I know Ill find it tough as my calves are getting quite sore. Not sure if I need to change shoes or I just need to build these muscles as they have never been used properly before, going to America in June so going to try and hold out for new shoes till then.

Tonight I had my double class Body Attack which is my Arch Nemesis, this class never gets any easier and with the amount of Jumping Jacks, high leg kicks and squat jumps you really need to make sure your pelvic muscles are in tact! Next I had Body Pump, this pump class is a bit different from my one on a Thursday as this teached just focuses on two body parts, tonight it was biceps and shoulders, I found it quite tough especially the shoulder track and was shaking at the end but felt good when Id finished. I tend to get sore wrists so will need to strap them and I am beginning to get sore ankles too, going to look like a mummy soon if I need to strap too many body parts!

Tomorrow is my rest day and Im looking forward to it, feeling my legs quite tired, think my body has went into shock with all this exercise.

Tips for the day
1. Practice your pelvic floor exercises before you start an Attack Class, if not invest in some Tenna Lady.
2. Wear gloves running in the cold, I found out the hard way and believe me it was so much better on Sunday with a pair of wooly gloves (my sons of course)

So this week Im embarking on week 2 and Im sure there will be tears, Im sure there will be tantrums but hey Im a girl and Im allowed.

Housework is Exercise...

I couldnt believe it this morning when I looked out and there was snow falling on the ground again, as Jess stood oohhing and ahhing out the window I was seriously cursing as I really dont want to have to run in the snow. Didnt last long though and by lunch time it had all but gone phew.

Friday is my housework day and boy oh boy is that a work out in itself. Hoovering sofas, washing floors, cleaning 3 toilets, I mean really who needs 3 toilets Im seriously thinking about boarding 2 up if the boys cant learn to aim straight bleugh. Cleaning always seems to give me some sort of sciatic pain in my back hip bottom area not good so I always end up pretty stiff and sore.

My ankle wasnt as bad as I thought this morning, Mr H made me put ice on it last night so think that might have helped; Legs have been a bit heavy and even when I went out this afternoon I made a conscious effort to take the stairs everywhere and really felt it as I climbed 6 flights on the old thighs, Im sure my bottom will reap the benefits as it makes the long hard climb from the back of my knees up to nearer where it should be!

2nd day on C25K and I felt it tough today, obviously the effects of a doulble class last night didnt help but I couldnt help thinking if Im finding it hard to do a minutes running at a time how the hell am I going to manage 30 minutes?! Anyway I completed it, wasnt as fast as Wednesday but then Tuesday was my rest day so I had a fresh pair of legs on Wednesday. My legs were very tired and I was finding the running bits difficult as I was dodging lots of bits of black ice at the same time so Im sure this added to me being a bit slower. Next day for running is meant o be Sunday but I really dont know if Ill manage mmmmmm, my first fail maybe? I really dont know if its wise to do it with a hangover but then again it might blow the cobwebs away, will need to watch this space for that one!

Think Im going to have to rethink my training schedule but it has to work round my classes which are on a Monday and Thursday as hubby trains for footie and also goes to the gym. So I need to fit in 3 days of running mmmmmm, either that or Ill just need to keep pushing through the barrier on a Friday. Wednesdays and Sundays are fine for running as Tuesday and Saturday are rest days, well thats as long as I dont hit the voodoos on a Saturday night which cant be guaranteed.

Tips for today
1. Do not go for a spray tan then go running, you WILL meet someone you know (who says you look great till you point out you are actually 10 shades darker than normal) and small children will throw things at you
2. Dont think you can get away with going for a run with no bra on just so you dont take your fake tan off, seriously not a good look for above small children and definately not good for the back!

So I doubt Ill be here till maybe Monday but then again I may surprise you and do my run on Sunday, somehow I doubt it watch this space..................

Day 3 in the Fitness House

Well I should have just wrote today of as a bad one from the start really. I know, I know only weigh yourself once a week same time same clothes blah, blah, blah, but nooooo not me I weighed myself again this morning and I have put on friggin 1/2 llb since yesterday, I mean whats that all about really? So anyway off I went to my Body Combat class as normal on a Thursday and my usual teacher was off, it was a BOY taking the class a bloody BOY. So 20 minutes in the class I go over on my ankle like a prize idiot, I hobble to the side and the teacher is shouting are you ok, how embarrasing in a class of around 90 people, anyway the Natalie of old would have took it as a cue to bail but no next track and I was back Rambo style roundhousing with the rest of them. Was a tough class and the BOY was good but girls are so much better :)

Next class Body pump, oh and I forgot to tell you on Monday at pump I dropped a 2.5k plate on the inside of the same ankle I had just went over on, really are the fitness gods aligning themselves against me?? It was a tough class and the squats were awful I had upped my weight to 4.5kg each side so 9kg in total, really tough but managed it through gritted teeth. Chest press was a killer as well oh the whole bloody class was a killer really and if someone finds my triceps on there travels please send them back as I really need them instead of bingo wings?

Well I measured myself as promised and I have no idea if I have done it right but here goes

Waist 30"
Under Bust 30.5"
Hips 36"
Bum 37.5"
Thighs 21"
Calf 13.5"
Upper Arm 11.5"

So there you go thats my measurements, hope they change as the weight isnt going in the right direction!

Im out on Saturday night and its a free bar, not a good idea when you are liable to getting a bit out of control especially when you are with a friend thats just the exact same as you. Oh and its a dinner too so think I can safely say Ill be pleased if I stay the same weight on Tuesday. Oh and the run on Sunday Im sure will be a no goer!

Anyway the ankles on ice so fingers crossed its okay for my run tomorrow, although I do suspect I may have heavy legs from the squats as well.

Tips for the day
1. Do not go for a Brazilian Bikini wax one hour before a Combat session..
2. Dont go trying to lift too many weights at once, one may just drop on your sore ankle.
3. DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK ARE YOU LISTENING.

C25K the beginning tomorrow came....

Well all day I have been itching to get home from work to don my jogging gear (you do realise I have cleared TK Maxx rails) and get out there. I downloaded the podcast and podrunner last night in preperation, so 3oclock came and I left work quick change and podcast on and away I went, 5 minute warm up, it was bloody freezing and I found myself wanting to run as I was so cold but I held out till the man in my ear told me to go, and off I went my first 60 second jog, controlling my breathing after a word from a few helpful ladies, I had mapped out my route so half way through I knew Id done a mile and it felt good, the second last 60 second jog I felt it in my calves they felt heavy and I struggled through than minute but I managed and the last minute wasnt as bad by this point I had completed around 1 3/4 miles, the 5 minute warm down took me right to my door. How did I feel? Bloody well great exhilerated that I had completed two miles albeit only around 10 of the 30minutes jogging but I did it, I didnt have the burning feeling in my chest I normally get. I found the 60 seconds walking longer than the 60 seconds jogging, how bizarre is that? So all in all a success I would think so thats me on the jogging front till Friday, back to the gym for a double class tomorrow combat then pump, think the legs will be tired on Friday!

Things I realised
1. I need to wear sunscreen when out jogging I dont want a face like leather
2. The earphones are too big for my ears and kept popping out, I ended up running an extra 30 seconds as I messed the Ipod up trying to fix an earphone, most annoying.
3. Do not wear a White Nike zipper and come in and make a tomato sauce for the pasta whilst still wearing said white Nike zipper!

Going to measure my body tomorrow and put measurements on here for all to see! Will see what difference it makes in the coming weeks. Im weighing in at 9st 5llbs not sure how much Ill lose of that maybe I should just concentrate on the measurements but I know in my heart Id like to see the little digital numbers go down

Day 1 starts tomorrow.................

Im about to embark on a journey that I have never been on before, Im going to become fit. How many times have I told myself tomorrow I will start and never actually made it tomorrow, well tomorrow is the day I will start my C25K plan. This week I have already been to the gym twice but tomorrow is when my hell starts. I hate running I have always hated running but Im determined to feel the wind in my hair this year and enjoy it. Watch this space!!!
